Moissanite as good as a diamond?
Moissanite has properties very close to diamonds. Moissanite scores 9.25/10 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. That makes it the hardest gemstone used in jewellery next to diamonds (which is a 10/10). Sparkle wise, moissanite has an even higher refractive index than diamonds, so it's even sparklier than a diamond.  Moissanite is more durable than diamonds.
    Will Moissanite scratch easily?
It is very rare that a moissanite ring or wedding band will encounter physical contact with a harder substance. The only harder substance is a diamond, so chances are that if your moissanite gets scratched, it came into contact with a diamond.
Thus moissanite stones are extremely scratch resistant. This makes moissanite a very good gemstone for engagement rings.
      Will Moissanite change colour?
Moissanite is an extremely stable gemstone, and as such, it is impossible for the colour to change with time, just as it impossible for a diamond to change colour with time. The only way the perceived colour can be impacted is if the stone gets dirty.  Your moissanite is guaranteed to stay the same colour forever.
Moissanite is a rare, naturally occurring mineral also known as silicon carbide, which was first discovered by the Nobel Prize-winning chemist, Dr. Henri Moissan, at the site of a massive meteorite strike in Arizona. This intriguing new stone was named “moissanite” in his honor.
Are Moissanite hand or machine cut?
Moissanite gemstones are produced within exact specifications and carefully hand faceted by a skilled diamond gemstone cutters.  Cut to high quality standards, Moissanite's unique cut proportions maximize the gemstones brilliance and enhance it’s exceptional fire.
          How do you clean Moissanite?
One of the best ways to clean moissanite jewellery is to simply use a mild soap with warm water and either a soft cloth or toothbrush. Place the moissanite in the soapy solution, then gently brush the stone. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth.
          Is Moissanite a natural gemstone?
Although moissanite can be found naturally in very small quantities, moissanite is grown in a laboratory and therefore has a man-made origin.
            Is Moissanite heat tolerant?
Moissanite gemstones are heat resistant. Jewellers however, do need to take precautions and use best practice when tipping and working with moissanite.  When you repair or re-tip jewellery, the heating process causes moissanite to temporarily change colour.  The stone will initially turn yellow and then red in colour. When cooled slowly it will return to its original colour.
